About the Moraga Junior Women's Club (MJWC): Founded in 1970, the Moraga Junior Women's Club (MJWC) is a highly respected community service organization whose fundraising efforts have generated over $150,000 within just the past 6 years, alone. The Club distributes its funds to a variety of educational, social, and community based programs throughout Contra Costa, Alameda and San Francisco Counties. Some of the Club's beneficiaries in the recent past have included the Bay Area Rescue Mission, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Contra Costa County, Meals on Wheels, Oakland Children's Hospital pediatric AIDS Ward as well as many local services in Moraga. The Club has an open membership, inviting any Moraga resident to join without regard to race, color, creed, age or national origin. Funding for the operation of the MJWC is provided by membership dues and other MJWC fund raising events scheduled throughout the year.
